Financial-technology company FIS has named its president and chief operating officer, Gary Norcross, to its board of directors.
Norcross was appointed to the Jacksonville, Fla., company's board on Wednesday. He became president of FIS last year, and has held a range of positions in his 25 years with the company.
Frank Martire, FIS' chairman and chief executive, was re-elected to serve another term as chairman, the company said. Martire joined FIS through its 2009 acquisition of Metavante Technologies, where he was president and CEO.
James Stallings, a former IBM executive, was also elected to the FIS board. Stephen James, formerly the chief operating officer at the consulting firm Accenture, was re-elected.
Norcross "has been a tremendous leader at FIS for many years and has guided our company through impressive global growth, large and complex acquisitions and an ever-changing regulatory and competitive environment," Martire said in the Wednesday news release.
