First Citizens BancShares (FCNCA) in Raleigh, N.C., has named a former Royal Bank of Canada (RY) executive to be its chief financial officer.

Glenn McCoy started the job Monday, the $21 billion-asset company said in a news release. He joined First Citizens in December as executive vice president of finance.
