WASHINGTON — Scott Polakoff, the former acting director of the Office of Thrift Supervision, has joined FinPro Inc.
Polakoff has been working as a principal at Booz Allen Hamilton since 2009, when he left the OTS after an inspector general's report found that he had allowed IndyMac Bancorp to fraudulently backdate financial reports.
Before that he spent 22 years at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and four years as the OTS' chief operating officer.
Polakoff will serve as an executive managing director at FinPro, a financial advisory firm based in New Jersey, and will co-head its regulatory practice. "Having worked with Scott in his prior regulatory capacity, I am certain that his experience and expertise will be of great value to our client base," FinPro's president, Donald Musso, said in a press release.
