Colonial BancGroup of Birmingham, Ala., has named a retail executive from its home state as president of a southwest Florida operation it bought last year.
Harlan C. Parrish will be president of what used to be First National Bank of Florida, Bonita Springs, and is now the southwest Florida region of Colonial Bank.
The 15-year Colonial employee was the executive vice president of retail banking in Huntsville, Ala.
In Florida he succeeded Richard Garner, who has left the bank. Mr. Garner was president of First National when Colonial bought its holding company, $255 million-asset South Florida Banking Corp., in February of last year.
