City National Bank (CYN) in Los Angeles opened an office in Daytona Beach, Fla., that will target clients in the entertainment, sports and motorsports industries.
David Pijot and Elaine Cunningham have joined City National from SunTrust Banks (STI) to lead this new office. Pijot was appointed as a senior vice president and relationship manager, while Cunningham was named an assistant vice president and account manager.
Pijot has more than 30 years of banking and finance experience and founded the motorsports division of the sports and entertainment group at SunTrust. Meanwhile, Cunningham was previously a client support specialist with SunTrust's sports and entertainment group.
Both Pijot and Cunningham will report to Holly Bell, Southeast team manager for City National's entertainment division, which is based in Nashville. The bank also has an office in Atlanta that targets clients in the music and entertainment industries.
"This is a natural migration for City National Bank," said Bell in a news release. "A number of our entertainment and entrepreneurial clients are heavily involved in the motorsports industry, which is based here and popular nationwide. We have deep roots in the sports and entertainment industries, and the addition of this team allows us to serve more clients."
