Citizens Financial Group in Providence, R.I., hired a longtime executive at SunTrust Banks in Atlanta to lead its Southeast operations.
The $147 billion-asset parent of Citizens Bank named Brian Peters regional executive and head of the Southeast, based in Atlanta, according to a Monday news release. Both positions are newly created roles.
Peters joined the $205 billion-asset SunTrust in 1995 and has worked in banking in Atlanta since 1991. Most recently, Peters was head of national corporate banking at SunTrust. He left SunTrust in March, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Citizens Bank has about 1,200 branches in 11 states in the New England, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest regions.
