CFPB's Former No. 2 Rejoins Prosper's Board

Raj Date, the former No. 2 at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, was reappointed to the board of the peer-to-peer lender Prosper Marketplace, the company said Friday.

Date had previously served as one of Prosper's early board members, but gave up his seat upon going to work for the CFPB. He left the CFPB earlier this year to start a consumer finance advisory and investment firm, Fenway Summer, based in Washington.

"At Fenway Summer, we're working to help rebuild American finance on a foundation of consumer trust," Date said in a press release issued by Prosper on Friday. "Prosper is among the most innovative and promising companies in this field and I'm thrilled to be working with their team."
