BMO Harris Bank in Chicago has hired a former M&T Bank executive as its chief information officer.
Deepa Soni joined the U.S. operations of BMO Financial Group on April 5, a spokeswoman for the bank said Thursday. Soni is responsible for developing and implementing information technology strategies and investment plans for the $104 billion-asset bank's personal and commercial business group.
She replaces Tony da Camara in the role. He is now head of technology and operations for BMO Financial Group, which oversees the technology related to acquisitions, divestitures and integrations.

Previously, Soni worked at M&T Bank in Buffalo, N.Y., where she was head of application development for two years after working in technology services for its retail, business and digital banking arm. Before M&T, she spent more than a decade at KeyCorp in enterprise and systems architecture.
