BMO Financial Snags Digital Banker from U.S. Bank

BMO Financial Group has recruited Niti Badarinath from U.S. Bancorp to manage its online, mobile and physical channels in North America.

The Toronto-based company announced Tuesday that it had named Badarinath as head of North American channels. He will be responsible for its digital strategy agenda, including the adoption of a new global digital platform, it said in a release.

As senior vice president of mobile banking and money movement at U.S. Bancorp, Badarinath was recognized as American Banker's Digital Banker of the Year in 2014. The Minneapolis-based company's mobile banking product is considered a pioneer for features like mobile photo bill payments.

Prior to his role at U.S. Bancorp, Badarinath served as executive vice president of the global direct bank at Citigroup. He has also held senior roles in management consulting at IBM, PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young, where he was tasked with driving digital innovation in banking and payments.
