BBVA Compass Updates iPad App

BBVA Compass on Monday announced its iPad app will soon be updated with access to weekly economic updates and other research.

The bank, a unit of Spain's Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, said the revamped app will also allow users to pay bills and view check images, transaction receipts and account statements. Additionally, the app will host graphics of customers' bill payments and cash flow, BBVA said at American Banker's Mobile Banking and Commerce Summit in San Francisco.

The iPad app will be launched at the end of the month, according to a press release.

"The new app gives users a fast and easy way to manage their BBVA Compass accounts," said Alex Carriles, BBVA's executive vice president and director of mobile strategy and retail innovation, in the press release.

BBVA first released its iPad app in 2010. That original version allowed users to check their balances, review transactions, transfer funds and find local branches.

In March, BBVA released the similarly updated version of its iPhone app.
