BBVA Compass announced Tuesday that it's expanding its mobile banking applications to include software for the Windows smartphone platform (version 7.5 or higher) and Amazon's Kindle Fire tablet.
The Birmingham, Ala., unit of the Spanish banking company said that by including new, native applications for popular mobile platforms it will be better able to accommodate its customers.
BBVA Compass currently provides mobile banking apps for Apple's iPhone and iPad, as well as BlackBerry and Android devices.
"This is part of our ongoing commitment to create a seamless customer experience," said Alex Carriles, BBVA Compass' executive vice president and director of mobile strategy and retail innovation, in a press release. "With apps customized for each device, we can provide the most robust user experience possible and offer access to banking services wherever and whenever is most convenient for our customers."
