BBCN Adds Former East West Exec to Board

BBCN Bancorp in Los Angeles has appointed two new board members.

William J. Lewis, a former chief credit officer at East West Bank in Pasadena, Calif., will join the board, effective immediately. He will serve as the chairman of the $6.9 billion-asset BBCN's asset and liability committee, and also serve on its compliance, audit and loan committees.

Before joining the $27 billion-asset East West, Lewis also worked as the chief credit officer at PriVest Bank, which had assets of $77 million and is now part of Citizens Business Bank in Ontario, Calif., according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.

BBCN also appointed Kiho Choi to its board. Choi is the managing partner of Choi, Kim & Park, an accounting firm in Los Angeles.

"We welcome William and Kiho to our board and look forward to their valuable contributions as we continue to progress as the premier Korean-American bank in the United States," Kevin S. Kim, BBCN's chairman and chief executive officer, said in a news release Monday.
