BB&T in Winston-Salem, N.C., has a new bank president.
The $184 billion-asset company said in a press release Wednesday that Ricky Brown had taken the reins at Branch Bank & Trust. He succeeded the recently retired Rob Greene, who had been the bank's president since BB&T merged with Southern National Bancorp nearly 20 years ago.
Brown will remain BB&T's president of community banking, a role he has held since 2004.
Brown joined BB&T in 1977 and has held several titles, including business services officer, corporate banker, city executive, regional president, and group president. Brown is also a member of the Financial Services Roundtable.
