Bank of America has hired a Citigroup executive to serve as its new head of consumer and small-business products.
Mary Hines Droesch will oversee the strategy, design, development and management of lending and deposit products in BofA’s retail, preferred and small-business client segments, the company said in a press release.
Droesch, who joined the Charlotte, North Carolina, firm this week, will also supervise banking products in BofA's wealth management unit and will work closely with its enterprise payments and digital teams. She will report to Dean Athanasia, president of regional banking.
“Mary has a proven track record of working with client-facing and digital teams to deliver for clients,” Athanasia said in the press release. “She will ensure that we continue to design, enhance and deliver innovative solutions that help make our clients’ financial lives better.”
Droesch most recently worked as chief marketing officer in Citi’s U.S. consumer unit, where she oversaw more than 500 employees across its retail banking, wealth management, cards and mortgage businesses. She began her career at the consulting firm Accenture and has held numerous product positions at both American Express and Citi.
At Bank of America, she succeeds April Schneider, who has moved to a new role as managing director of global capital planning, real estate and strategic initiatives, within the company’s chief administrative office group.
