Arcot Brings 2FA to Phillipines Bank

Overseas bankers have put much more energy into issuing OTP tokens to their clients than American institutions, which are much more comfortable relying on software, knowledge-based or other less visible authentication measures to meet regulatory requirements. But Arcot Systems recently booked a deal with Security Bank Corporation, one of the top 10 banks in the Philipines, to bring Arcot’s flash-based authentication, which utilizes the Adobe Flash Player and PKI to give strong authentication with no user interactions beyond username and password.

In mid 2007, Arcot claimed to be the first software-only authentication provider in the EMEA markets. It’s WebFort authentication product takes advantage of the Adobe Flash player, which is embedded on 97 percent of desktops. Adobe is an investor in privately held Arcot.
