Ace Cash Express Inc. has renewed a prepaid card distribution agreement with NetSpend Corp.
NetSpend, of Austin, announced Tuesday that the Irving, Tex., payday lender and check cashing company would distribute its reloadable cards for another seven years.
Ace Cash Express is the largest owner and operator of check-cashing stores in the United States and has sold more than 1.6 million of NetSpend's prepaid cards through its network of company- and franchise-owned stores since 2002.
Daniel R. Henry, NetSpend's chief executive, said in a press release that the relationship "has proven to be of tremendous value to us," and that Ace Cash Express has "played a key role in helping us expand our suite of services and innovate new products."
NetSpend's cards are issued by Meta Financial Group Inc.
