The Most Powerful Women in Banking 2019

From wrestling with the potential impact of Brexit to charting a course for responsible artificial intelligence, this year’s Most Powerful Women in Banking have faced many challenges during the past year.

Citigroup’s Jane Fraser may have had one of the toughest jobs. As chief executive of Latin America for Citi, she helped cut a deal with the recently elected left-wing populist government in Mexico that will reduce the bank's income in the short term, but left room for significant future growth.

Diane Morais, the president of consumer and commercial banking products at Ally Bank, took the unusual step of publicly acknowledging that its new mortgage program needed to be overhauled. She then championed the effort to get it back on track.
