The prepaid card marketer NetSpend Corp. has entered into a distribution agreement to sell its Visa prepaid cards at 5,000 7-Eleven locations in the U.S.
This new agreement, announced Wednesday, marks NetSpend's largest retail distribution footprint to date, according to a NetSpend spokesperson. This agreement builds on another pact, announced in October. The earlier deal allowed NetSpend users to reload their cards at 7-Eleven stores.
"The combination of selling our [general purpose reloadable] cards and expanding our reload network at 7-Eleven stores gives self-banked consumers an easier way to take care of their financial services needs outside of the traditional, normal banking hours and at locations that are more convenient to them," Dan Henry, NetSpend's chief executive, said in a press release.
