JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s vast ATM network is about to get a little bigger.
The $2.3 trillion banking giant said last week that it is planning to install roughly 800 automated teller machines at ampm convenience stores/gas stations in California and four other western states.
The new ATMs began arriving at ARCO-branded ampm stores in November and all are expected to be installed by the end of March. About 75% of the ATMs will be in California, and the rest will be located in stores in Oregon, Arizona, Washington and Nevada.
In a news release, JPMorgan Chase's head of ATM distribution and employment, Jim Sutton, said that the new ATMs would make banking more convenient for millions of the bank's customers. He added that ATMs in select locations would also be able to accept deposits.
Once all the ATMs are installed, JPMorgan Chase would have roughly 4,000 ATMs in California and about 17,500 worldwide.
