SCCU Debit Card Features Surfer
MELBOURNE, Fla.–Space Coast CU is rolling out a new debit card design showcasing 19-year-old local surfing champion Adam Wickwire executing his favorite move. The teen surfer, winner of several national amateur titles before turning pro, is a longtime member of Space Coast.
The Wickwire surfing-themed card is one of more than 20 exclusive credit and debit card designs available at the $1.5- billion credit union.
Sunmark Supports Financial Ed
SCHENECTADY, N.Y.–Sunmark Federal Credit Union and Assemblyman George Amedore will be working on a joint initiative to raise awareness of, and access to, financial education in Schenectady County.
Sunmark FCU is currently working with the Schenectady Municipal Housing Authority to provide financial education to low and moderate-income families. The program will assist SMHA tenants with their efforts to improve their financial well-being and make financially responsible choices. The conference will be at the Argosy Casino Hotel and Spa in Kansas City, Mis., from May 4 to 6.

Baxter CU Mourns Loss Of VP
VERNON HILLS, Ill.–John “J.R.” Ridge, 48, VP-Wealth Management for Baxter Credit Union (BCU) since 2004, has died. Mr. Ridge had spent the the previous 17 years with CUNA Mutual Group. “He is remembered by friends at both BCU and CUNA Mutual as full of wisdom, making others laugh, and perpetually thinking that this was going to be The Year for the Chicago Cubs,” the credit union said.
NFCC Offers Spanish Site
SILVER SPRING, Md.–The National Foundation for Credit Counseling has launched a Spanish-language version of its DebtAdvice.org site to assist consumers not fluent in English. The new website will provide consumers with credit counseling, phone or online access to Spanish-speaking counselors and debt management plans.
