Jim Harris, longtime president and CEO of University & State Employees Credit Union in San Diego, is stepping down.

“The Board would like to thank Jim for his leadership over the past 15 years,” Josh Lawrence, chairperson of the USECU board, said in a press release. “With his guidance, Jim has helped the credit union’s asset size grow to $1.3 billion, and he’s helped foster a people-focused culture that continues to align with the credit union’s purpose and mission. We thank Jim for his commitment to USE Credit Union, and we wish him all the best in his much-deserved retirement.”
The credit union has appointed current senior vice president and CFO Todd Tharp to serve as interim president and CEO while the board continues its search for a new CEO. Harris will remain with the credit union in a different capacity to assist with any transitions per succession planning.
