Texans Bid Jim Bryan 'HappyTrails'

RICHARDSON, Texas - (10/06/03) -- James Bryan, the well-knownpresident and CEO of Texans CU, retired last month after 27 yearswith the credit union. Bryan, 65, joined Texans as head of branchoperations in 1974 and helped build the credit union from a $50million institution to a $1.2 billion powerhouse with more than150,000 members in 250 select groups and 16 communities. A nativeTexan, Bryan was raised in Dallas and worked for Texas Instruments,Texans' original sponsor, for 12 years before joining the creditunion. A past chairman of CUNA Mutual Group's board, Bryan willcontinue to serve on that panel. Bryan was succeeded as presidentof Texans CU by David Addison, former president of ConstitutionState Corporate CU, Wallingford, Ct., and a former executive withU.S. Central CU and Louisiana Corporate CU.
