Sooper Credit Union in Arvada, Colorado, has promoted Carrie Langgard to lead the organization as its president and CEO.
The $536 million-asset credit union announced that Langgard, who joined Sooper in 2014 as chief financial officer, became its leader Jan. 1 after former CEO Dan Kester retired at the end of last year. She was selected by the credit union’s board in 2019 as part of its succession planning.
“Her leadership and individual contributions to the credit union over her tenure have led to exponential growth in recent years,” Adam Williamson, board chair at Sooper, said in a press release Tuesday. “We’re excited to see the bright future ahead as Carrie takes the lead.”
In addition to her leadership roles at Sooper, Langgard also occupies positions on the boards of organizations such as Aux, CU Prodigy, InNetwork and the Porter-Billups Leadership Academy.
“I am honored to be appointed as Sooper’s president and CEO and look forward to working with our board and talented employees as we continue to profitably grow and serve our members,” Langgard said in the release. “Throughout my career, I’ve been guided by the credit union mission of ‘People helping people,’ and I look forward to expanding opportunities for our members and employees.”
