Sharonview Federal Credit Union in Indian Land, South Carolina, named Herb White as its new president and chief executive, effective Jan. 1.

The $1.9 billion-asset Sharonview said White, who began his career with the credit union as chief lending officer in 2017, was promoted to chief revenue officer last year.

"The board has witnessed and been impressed by Herb White's dedication to Sharonview and its members. His member-centric vision guides him — and we look forward to seeing that vision serve as his guiding light as president and CEO," said Sharonview Chairman Phil Ridolfi in a press release Wednesday.
White has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, including 15 years working for credit unions.
"I am a believer in the credit union difference. Our members aren't just numbers. They are people with financial dreams — of home ownership, entrepreneurship, higher education and more — that we help them achieve, and it is a pleasure to do so," White said in the press release.
Sharonview serves more than 100,000 members nationwide, and operates 18 branches in North Carolina and South Carolina.
Sharonview FCU lost $3 million in the first nine months of 2022 after earning $2.2 million a year earlier, according to call report data from the National Credit Union Administration.
