Premier Federal Credit Union, a $176 million institution based in Greensboro, N.C., announced that for the seventh consecutive year, its members received a 5% rebate of the interest paid in 2016 on eligible loans.
On the whole, more than 9,400 members received a portion of the $260,710 given back through a deposit to their savings account. Over the past seven years, more than $1.75 million has been returned to Premier FCU members in the form of an annual interest rebate.
"Being a not-for-profit financial cooperative, we are committed to enhancing the benefits of being a member-owner," said Lori Thompson, president and CEO in a statement. "We are proud to have helped so many of our members save money and get the things they need through our lending products."
Premier FCU serves more than 26,000 members, and has seven branches in North Carolina, as well as one branch in South Carolina.
