Parkside CU, Village Community CU in Michigan Combined

Parkside Credit Union in Livonia, Mich., and Village Community Credit Union in Dearborn, Mich., have merged.

The $84 million-asset Parkside combined with the $21 million-asset Village on Jan. 1. The combined institution will retain the Parkside name and remain headquartered in Livonia.

The new credit union has about 3,800 members and four branches in Livonia, Westland and Dearborn.

Parkside in July hired the chief executive of Village Community CU, Janet Thompson, to be its own CEO and president. She replaced Martin Carter, who left Parkside to be CEO at the $148 million-asset Astera Credit Union in Lansing, Mich.
