LIVONIA, Mich. — The board of directors at Parkside Credit Union announced that Janet B. Thompson will take over as the $87 million CU's president and CEO, effective July 13.
Thompson, who has more than 25 years of credit union experience, formerly served as the president and chief executive officer of Village Community Credit Union, a $20-million entity based in Dearborn, Mich., since 2007. Prior to that she worked as SVP/chief marketing officer at Credit Union One, an $890-million institution based in Ferndale, Mich.
Thompson will take the reins at Parkside from Martin R. Carter, who served as chief executive officer since 2012 and is heading over to the $148 million Astera CU in Lansing, Mich.
