The National Credit Union Administration board has approved Myra Toeppe as the new director of the regulator's Office of Examination and Insurance.
The appointment is effective immediately, the agency said Monday. Toeppe has been serving in that role on an acting basis since March 1, following longtime director Larry Fazio's
“Myra brings a wealth of management and financial supervision experience to this important position,” NCUA Chairman Rodney Hood said in a press release. “She has a passion for public service and has spent her career promoting the safety and soundness of financial institutions. We’re thrilled to have her in this role.”
Toeppe has 25 years of financial services regulatory experience, including at the Office of Thrift Supervision and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta. She joined NCUA in 2011 and spent more than seven years in the regulator's former Atlanta office, including serving as regional director, before taking over as strategic advisor in the Office of Examination and Insurance at the agency's Alexandria, Va., headquarters early last year after the Atlanta office was closed as part of a broader
