Longtime CEO of Fergus Federal Credit Union plans to retire

Bob Bjelland, president and CEO of Fergus FCU

Bob Bjelland, president and CEO of Fergus Federal Credit Union in Lewistown, Mont., will retire at the end of this year.

Bjelland has led the institution for more than 30 years, helping it grow from roughly $4 million in assets to more than $70 million. It currently has more than 5,700 members.

“The highlight of my career at Fergus FCU will forever be my talented team and our incredible members,” Bjelland said in a press release on Friday. “I will always remember the important part they have played throughout my years at the credit union.”

The press release did not list Bjelland's successor, and a request for comment on who would take over for Bjelland was not immediately returned.

Prior to joining Fergus, Bjelland worked at Montana’s Credit Unions for six years and later sat on its board. He was then chief financial officer for Treasure State Corporate Credit Union. In 2009, he was named Montana Credit Union’s Professional of the Year.
