H E B Federal Credit Union in San Antonio promoted Don Ford to president and CEO following the retirement of chief executive Lynn Kincaid.
Ford, the $217 million-asset credit union's chief operating officer, will assume the president role immediately and the CEO role after Kincaid retires on May 1.
Kincaid joined the credit union as CEO in 1996. She will continue to work with the board of directors as strategic advisor.
"Lynn was our devoted leader for a long time, and to say she will be missed would be an understatement," Chairperson John Carroll in a press release Wednesday. "With Lynn as our CEO, the credit union has become more than we thought it would, and for that we will always be grateful."
Ford has been the credit union's chief operating officer for 25 years.
"Don has been a fundamental part of our success for a long time," Carroll said. "Elevating him to be our new CEO was easily the best decision for our organization following Lynn's departure."
The credit union hired Natalie Wood Jones to take over as COO after Ford's promotion. Jones was most recently Seguin market president and president of insurance with First Commercial Bank in Seguin, Texas.
H E B earned $907,000 in the first nine months of 2022, a 35% decrease compared with a year earlier, according to call report data from the National Credit Union Administration.
