Fortera Credit Union in Tennessee names new president

Fortera Credit Union in Clarksville, Tennessee, has chosen Jennifer Ventimiglia as its president and next CEO.

The $713 million-asset credit union announced that Ventimiglia, who first joined Fortera in 2015 as chief digital officer and was most recently executive vice president and chief operating officer, took on her new role as president on Jan. 1. She will become CEO after Tom Kane, who has led the credit union for 12 years, retires later this year.

“As we look to the future, it is important that our president and CEO provide a strategic vision that will advance the impact we make in the lives and communities we serve,” Rick Hackwell, chairman of Fortera, said in a press release Monday. “In her 25 years of financial service experience, Jennifer’s knowledge and achievements demonstrate her keen focus on our mission-minded purpose … having led Fortera’s recent field of membership change, she is instrumental in expanding Fortera’s horizon for the future.”

Founded in 1954, the credit union has grown from its original location in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, to eight branches that serve over 70,000 members.

“The opportunity to serve Fortera in this role is a tremendous honor,” Ventimiglia said in the release. “I look forward to growing the legacy established through Tom’s leadership of providing an exceptional service experience and workplace environment … together we will build upon the core values that shape our organization and the credit union difference.”
