MILLENOCKET, Maine — Katahdin FCU has temporarily closed its main office after a fire broke out in the building early Wednesday morning.
The fire began on the second floor, and officials are still determining the cause at this time. No injuries were reported.
With its main office down, the $68 million-asset credit union, which has two locations and 7,500 members, is leveraging shared branching and has also established a temporary workstation at Eastmill FCU in East Millinocket.
"We appreciate the cooperative efforts of Eastmill FCU and other credit union partners in providing assistance during this difficult time," said KFCU CEO Don Casko. "Our primary responsibility is to minimize the impact on our members, and our ability to serve them and their needs."
