Conexus Credit Union in Regina, Saskatchewan, has named Celina Philpot as its first female chief executive.
The CAD$6.8 billion-asset credit union — founded in 1937 — announced that Philpot, who according to her
"Celina's extensive experience in the credit union system, vision for success, community focus, action orientation, commitment to credit union values and her passion for leadership and innovation align with Conexus' priorities and strategy and will be key to leading Conexus into the future and helping us improve the financial well-being of our members and community," Mark Borgares, board chair of Conexus, said in a press release Tuesday.
Outside of her leadership roles within credit unions, Philpot also occupies roles with national organizations such as the Canadian Credit Union Association.
"As a first-generation Canadian, I understand the importance of commitment, hard work, drive and community … I integrate these qualities into my work and leadership style by challenging and empowering leaders at all levels to think differently, approach challenges creatively and inspire collective action that achieves positive results for members, the organization and the community at large", Philpot said in the release.
