Columbia-Greene Federal Credit Union, a $30 million-asset institution based in Hudson, N.Y., has been granted a community charter to serve both Columbia and Greene counties.
“We’re extremely excited our team will now be able to serve all the people who live, work, worship or attend school in the two counties,” stated Victoria Marrone, the credit union’s president and CEO.
According to Marrone, many areas in Greene County are severely unbanked and at present there are no “other publicly available credit union branch locations operating in either county.”
The community charter, she added, will “bring our wide variety of member-friendly, low-cost products to all consumers, while growing loans, deposits, and the overall operations of the credit union.”
Columbia-Greene FCU posted net income of about $185,000 in 2017, up from about $49,000 in the prior year.
