Bethpage FCU has become the latest to offer its members a 40-year mortgage. Called "The Credit Union Affordable Mortgage," the credit union said it is ideal for regions such as its Long Island home where "home sale prices are consistently on the rise." "The purchasing power is also greater as lower payments for a longer term can help buyers to qualify for home purchases once considered out of their range," the credit union said. Separately, BFCU has entered into a partnership with CU Realty to provide members a rebate of up to 1% of the value of the home being sold or purchased.
