Alliant CU Starts Charitable Foundation With $4 Million Grant

CHICAGO – Alliant CU became the latest credit union to create its own non-profit foundation yesterday with a news conference held at Alliant headquarters near Chicago’s O’Hare Airport which featured a $4 million donation from the credit union.

During the even, David Mooney, president of the $5 billion credit union, presented a $35,000 check to the event’s keynote speaker, John HOPE Bryant, as a contribution from Alliant CU Foundation to Operation HOPE, a national organization that promotes financial literacy and economic opportunity.

Also appearing at the foundation launch was Ms. Brenda Murphy, Board of Education President of Community Consolidated School District 62 (Des Plaines, IL). She applauded establishment of the new charity and spoke highly of Alliant’s commitment to Des Plaines schools and students via the Operation HOPE financial literacy teaching program.
