MILWAUKIE, Ore. – Advantis CU said it will provide $20,000 in college scholarships for Portland’s vulnerable youth via Friends of the Children, an organization that mentors kids.
The credit union’s GROW College Scholarship Program is an addition to its GROW Community Fund, which awarded $51,000 in grants to eight area non-profits in December.
The new scholarships will support education and vocational training for at-risk kids. Amounts will range from $1,000 to $5,000 per student. Participants also are eligible to apply for summer internships at Advantis.
