NEW YORK - The growth in online account-to-account transfers, using PCs, cellphones and PDAs, is evident in new data from CashEdge, which reports customers at financial institutions using its services executed more than $38 billion in transfers in 2007, a 300% increase over 2006.
“We are transferring tens of millions of dollars each day, said Sanjeev Dheer with CashEdge, which provides online funds transfer and online account funding solutions. “Account-to-account transfers are quickly becoming mainstream applications,” said George Tubin, research director at TowerGroup. “Today, consumers are confident transferring significant sums of money online between their accounts.
