Wells Fargo Promotes Hardison to Chief Administrative Officer

Wells Fargo has named Hope Hardison chief administrative officer, succeeding a 38-year company veteran.

Hardison has been promoted to the position from head of human resources, which she's led since 2010. Pat Callahan is retiring as chief administrative officer, a post she's held since 2011.

As chief administrative officer, Hardison will run corporate communications, government and community relations, and enterprise marketing. Additionally, human resources will be transferred to the chief administrative officer's oversight.

During Callahan's tenure, she led the integration of Wachovia and Wells Fargo, and also headed compliance and risk management. She also started Wells Fargo's corporate social responsibility function in 2008. In 2012 and 2013, American Banker named Callahan as one of its top 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking.
