BNY Mellon Names Two Women Execs to Board

Bank of New York Mellon has named two women executives from the energy and technology sectors to its board.

The $325 billion-asset company on Thursday appointed Linda Cook of EIG Global Energy Partners and Jennifer Morgan of SAP as directors. BNY Mellon expanded its board by two members, to 14 directors, to add Cook and Morgan, it said in a news release.

Cook and Morgan will be considered independent directors, and both will be on next year's slate of board nominees up for re-election by shareholders. Cook has been assigned to the corporate governance, nominating and risk committees; Morgan was placed on the audit and technology committees. They will become the third and fourth women directors at BNY Mellon.

Cook, 58, is a managing director of Washington-based EIG and is also chief executive of Harbour Energy in Houston. She joined EIG in 2014 after working at Royal Dutch Shell.

Morgan, 45, has been president of SAP North America since 2014 and joined the German tech giant in 2004. She has held other roles in her decade-plus at SAP, including head of the regulated-industries business unit.
