Activity to relieve stress/promote fun: For the bank's annual cook-offs, teams are chosen randomly to foster relationships across departments. Past events include a chili competition judged by local firefighters, and a salsa contest whose winner was picked by bank customers.
Employee recognition/appreciation program: At some point in the year, every manager is asked to write a personal note of encouragement to each of his or her employees, and employees are asked to do the same for managers. The notes are posted on the refrigerator in the break room.
Popular with employees: Springtime visits from the Hamburger Man, a Dallas-area vendor known for grilling some of the region's best burgers.
