In addition to making it feasible for staff to enjoy a four-day work week in summer, Capital City Bank tries to promote healthy lifestyles with a wellness campaign dubbed "95210." The program stresses the importance of sleeping nine hours per night, eating five servings of fruits and vegetables per day, limiting TV to two hours per day, squeezing in an hour's worth of daily exercise, and cutting soda and sugar intake to zero.
In January, the bank rolled out an incentive program that encourages employees to slash energy use. Designated ambassadors oversee the effort in each office, and the office that cuts the most wins a share of the resulting savings.
But Capital City, which was founded in 1895 and operates 67 branches in Alabama, Florida and Georgia, knows how to have fun, too. Food trucks drop by the bank's operations center every Friday, while other offices enjoy frequent group outings.
