MoneyDesktop Launches Long-Term Goal Setting Tool

MoneyDesktop on Tuesday launched a long-term goal setting platform that aggregates a person's daily spending habits and suggests a financial road map.

The personal financial management software provider said its GuideMe feature, an addition to its existing, eponymous PFM software, updates as users move from one goal to the next. Bigger goals will be presented by larger bubbles, smaller ones by lesser shapes.

In its earliest iteration, the software will work on Android devices. The announcement was made at FinovateFall in New York.

"Without a clear path to follow, long-term financial goals can quickly become fading aspirations or forgotten dreams," MoneyDesktop's chief executive and founder, Ryan Caldwell, said in a press release. "GuideMe provides a better way to visualize, interact with and actually achieve these goals by integrating long-term planning into day-to-day and monthly spending tracking."

The new product also comes with an API that banks can tweak and integrate. The software is already being used by the startup bank Moven.
